In this special edition of West Space Offsite, we are delighted to present a new video work by Atong Atem and an accompanying sound piece by Lucreccia Quintanilla. Both works draw from the artists’ experiences of the state of Victoria’s lockdown measures, including the limiting of movement to a 5k radius, Proximate to the Merri creek, Lucreccia and Atong collected natural materials, field recordings and video footage from along its banks. These works were commissioned by our friends and neighbours The Social Studio to launch Atong Atem’s collection with Romance Was Born. For further information please see The Social Studio’s website.
